Pair Of Folding Seat Armchairs, Fritz Hansen, Chromed Metal, circa 1970

About the Item

Very rare pair of Danish Fritz Hansen armchairs dating from the 1970s. This pair of jump seat armchairs is undoubtedly from a theatre, cinema or opera. Indeed the seat folds down and reveals a seat number as is frequently found in theaters or opera houses. They consist of a curved back detached from the seat and two pointed armrests. Two chromed metal structures forming a base are joined by a metal alloy crosspiece. Very high quality work. The original upholstery was red, again typical of opera theaters or cinemas but has been changed to an elegant textured cream fabric which will make it easier to insert into contemporary decorations. The upholstery has also been changed for better comfort. The FH signature for Fritz Hansen as well as the "Made in Denmark" can be found under the crosspiece. The seat height is 46cm. There are 5 armchairs available in total, some of which have seen the number under the seat lost. Sale per unit is possible. Please contact me for delivery!
